About the Project: This past Spring, the trustees of the Point Lookout Historical Society reached out to architect Joseph Brennan, to see if he was interested in taking on a "local" design for his community.
We Envision a New Home
The Point Lookout Historical Society needed a new home since Super storm Sandy further complicated the issues surrounding the community's use of the Ye Old Firehouse.
Having confirmed interest in the garage/warehouse located behind the former Merola's grocery, now home to the new "Aggies Market and Kitchen", the trustees of the Point Lookout Historical Society were looking for a fresh start. Joe, having the expertise and the passion for his town, was a perfect match.
These drawings are the result of initial meetings and discussions that continue about preservation needs and community access to the archive and the Point Lookout Historical Society's desire to offer a dynamic cultural community gathering space for meeting and learning about the history of Point Lookout and its environs.
The Point Lookout Historical Society holds collections of documents, images and artifacts pertaining to all aspects of life in Point Lookout dating from the 1700s to present. The mission of the Point Lookout Historical Society is to assure an interactive vehicle for all to enjoy and learn about Point Lookout’s past, present and future.
